        Verdict

        Gavlar and Good Run are closely matched on their 1-2 in a Newcastle handicap last month, though both have been well beaten since. Isharah has won four times on the all-weather but is 0-6 on Turf but there are possibilities about stable companion Yorkidding, who was seventh in last year’s Cesarewitch and is worth another try over this trip. GABRIAL’S KING shrugged off an absence to get back to winning ways over 1m4f at Thirsk last week. Adam McNamara’s claim takes care of a modest 3lb rise and he’s actually 2lb lower than when second in this race two years ago. Last year’s runner-up My Reward won off a 4lb higher mark later at Haydock and can’t be ignored after a pipe-opener at Musselburgh.
