led narrowly, ridden over 1f out, kept on until headed and no extra well inside final furlong
with leader, ridden and every chance over 1f out, hung right and one pace final furlong, no extra towards finish
slowly into stride, soon pushed along in rear, lost touch halfway
This appears to revolve around Caranbola and Thunderous Mood, with the former looking the tougher of the pair on the evidence available at this stage of the season. As Silent Wonder only cost ¿800 and is bred to be suited by a bit further; and Alibar's Surprise hails from a yard not really noted for first-time-out winners, it has to be Magic Cat that makes the most appeal from the other three declared at the final stage. Magic Cat ran with promise on debut last month and the experience will have taught him plenty. Karl Burke can use this as a good gauge of his abilities and place him to good effect after this. Thunderous Mood has been outclassed in a couple of Group races but drops back to a more realistic level. Paul Cole knows the time of day with a horse of this type and it would be no surprise to see this well-bred colt bounce back today. However, Caranbola has been an absolute credit to her connections and, as she is a willing partner for Alan Munro to team up with, the daughter of One Cool Cat is taken to further enhance her paddocks value with a third success of an already profitable campaign.
