Jo'Burg will have gleaned some confidence from his recent victory in a claimer at Doncaster but David O'Meara's likeable veteran is always vulnerable in handicaps to an improving type, and NUMBER ONE LONDON can make the trip from Brian Meehan's yard worthwhile. It's a little offputting that the colt is tried in first time blinkers after a couple of mediocre runs, although it's worth remembering that had chased home the useful Maputo on his handicap debut. On that evidence, he's clearly worth persevering with off what is essentially a 1lb lower mark. Mushaakis dotted up in a Musselburgh handicap off a mark of 70. The handicapper didn't miss him when it came to making a reassessment and he performed with plenty of credit when attempting this trip for the first time at Sandown. Arc Light won back-to-back races at Newcastle earlier in the season and Tim Easterby's five-year-old continues to be competitive off his current mark.
