The market should point to the chances of newcomer Prime Circle however MAVERIN sets a good standard and he is preferred to Quasi Congaree and Jill Le Brocq. Jeremy Noseda doesn't send many runners to the track and it may be significant that this son of King's Best travels up for this winnable maiden. His best run was arguably on his debut at Doncaster behind Roman Republic but a repeat of his latest second to Pumpkin at Yarmouth may be enough to seal victory today. New Leyf looks the pick of Jeremy Gask's duo and market support would be worth noting, as it would for Prime Circle, a well-bred Mark Johnston inmate although it is interesting that he is gelded before his first start on the track so it will be interesting to see how he copes with the occasion. Carragold and Chichen Daawe need to improve on their first runs, whilst the same probably applies to Jill Le Brocq who may do better when tried over further. Quasi Congaree may be of more interest; Ian Wood's colt ran well last time out at Yarmouth behind Lochan Mor and he should not be underestimated. Having said that he probably needs to improve to beat Maverin who can give Jeremy Noseda a rare Ripon winner.
