Verdict
NIMUE will not get a much better opportunity to break her maiden tag and can do so at the main expense of Olney Lass and Blue Moon. There looks to be plenty of dead wood in this contest, with a number, such as Offspring, House Point and Bahamian Jazz who look as though a handicapping career is being mapped out. Olney Lass won't mind any further rain and has run well in maidens over this trip at both Doncaster and Windsor, though she did not go as well on faster ground at Pontefract last time and looks beatable. Blue Moon may also be on her way to handicaps, but she showed enough improvement from first run to second to suggest that she might emerge as a leading player here, though this is her first try on turf and she has a bit to prove. Nimue is very much the standout in the field. Paul Cole has not had a winner here from eight attempts in the past five seasons, which is clearly not great news. However, otherwise, his filly has the strongest form and acts on any ground with good in the description, plus her front-running style over 7f suggests that she should have enough to stay in front at the line over this shorter trip.
