A tricky riddle to solve with WHISPER LOUISE given the tentative vote ahead of Blaze Of Thunder, though Paragons Folly and The Oboist are debutants who could go well. It is hard to be confident about any of these, but Whisper Louise has probably shown the best form on the racecourse in three maidens to date and acts on good ground, so we will go with her. On the negative side, she does look vulnerable from a high draw, and although her trainer Pam Sly has her string in good form and has a good strike rate at this track, she has not had a juvenile winner since Speciosa way back in 2005. Blaze Of Thunder is only just opposed here. He is drawn down the centre, so could race with either party in a likely split from the stalls, and he should act on good ground. Both his defeats read well in the context of this and a win would be no shock. Paragons Folly is nicely bred but has a high draw plus some moderate recent stable form to contend with, while Mark Johnston's string are also quiet at the time of writing and although The Oboist has the profile of a newcomer who could go very well, the filly will probably be better for the run. Having said that, if the ground turns up soft then she would have to be strongly considered on pedigree as her sire Clodovil relished cut. Blaze Of Thunder has the profile of one who will do better at three and is also drawn on the far side, but money for him would probably be significant. Hortensis needs to improve, and we will give one more chance to Whisper Louise.
