Savaanah may have needed the run when failing to land the odds at Redcar but it was still a disappointing effort and she’s not improving. Restive Spirit ran a race full of promise on his debut at Goodwood and will know more today. He makes more appeal than William Haggas’ other runner, Saint Diana, but GOOD BOY ALFIE’s win at Newcastle in January has worked out surprisingly well. The three that chased him home all won next time and Keith Dalgleish’s gelding can make a bold bid to defy his penalty.
