Mikmak was only beaten a neck on his reappearance at Haydock but that was on soft going, which is his favoured surface. However, David Allan rides the bottom weight rather than stablemate Silvery Moon, who may need another run or two. Mulligatawny was third last time at Chester and is gradually coming to hand and Daawy has also won over course and distance. Jacbequick may be David O’Meara’s best hope of landing the spoils, however, though he has become difficult to place. Mooltazem has disappointed either side of a second at Musselburgh so this is probably best left to REMEMBER THE DAYS (NAP), who won with something to spare at Ayr when back on a quicker surface – a 4lb rise looks lenient.
