Gaelic Wizard is in excellent form and doesn't have much more to do than when scoring at Thirsk under Gemma Tutty. Longroom scored over the minimum at Musselburgh then found Catterick just too sharp on his next start but now has an 8lb rise to contend with. Bold Spirit won over this trip on ground with some give at Catterick in August and his two latest runs have been over an extra furlong. He should go well while Lackaday is 5lb lower than his last victory at Catterick in the spring and will enjoy the conditions. PIAZON doesn't look an obvious choice but there are reasons for believing he could return to form. He has a course and distance victory on similar going to his credit and was racing from a 20lb higher mark around this time a year ago. He showed a bit more on just his second start for new connections at Kempton last time and has been dropped just enough to get into this handicap.
