Cavalry Guard can come out on top over Event Music, with Beaumont Bay and Le Masque expected to give a good account. Henry Cecil, enjoying something of a resurgence these days, sends Cavalry Guard up to Redcar with leading claims based on the colt's promising effort at Newmarket last month. Held up off the pace, he moved through sweetly to grab second at the end, and was clear of the third. Entered in both the Mill Reef and Middle Park, the American-bred is very much the one to beat. Event Music holds no fancy entries but dead-heated for second behind a much more fancied rival on his Windsor debut three weeks ago, and should at least make a race of it with the selection. Beaumont Bay can boast a bit more experience, but needs to step up a gear and may be one to follow if going the nursery route, while Le Masque swerved left at the start and lost all chance on his introduction at Thirsk and is probably better much better than a last of 12 indicates. However, he and the rest face a potentially useful rival in Cavalry Guard who is very much the one to be on.
