Hue has been in fine form over the sticks this winter and must be respected, however his flat form from last year is hardly exciting and so preference is for the consistent Haatmey ahead of Grizebeck. The selection has been keeping in trim on the all-weather this winter and Noel Wilson's admirable gelding should appreciate a return to turf. His best runs have come on flat tracks (is a course winner) and with the step up in trip not expected to pose any problems, he gets the vote. He was pipped by Grizebeck at Wolverhampton last time out, but the extra trip may work in his favour today. Kyber steps up in trip today and has won over this far in the past although that was on quicker ground, whilst Hugs Destiny needs respect although he hasn't won over this far since 2006 although to be fair he hasn't tried the trip that often. Young Scotton has been in fair form on the sand in recent months but he has a lot of weight to carry today, whilst Caraman, a useful dual-performer has claims back on the flat. An open race, with Haatmey the one to side with.
