Toss The Caber has scope to improve from the foot of the weights and is selected as the value call over Donna's Double, Champain Sands and Westcourt Dream. The last named is holding her form well at present and should make a bold bid to expand upon her profile. Mick Easterby's charge has a an excellent record for each-way backers and looks a good proposition to make the frame. Champain Sands is also in good heart and is another on a good mark just now. However, he has never won a race on turf before and is frustrating to side with for win only purposes. Donna's Double is still an enthusiastic performer despite being in the veteran stage of his career. The ten-year-old won well at his beloved Newcastle eight days ago and is very much respected as a reliable alternative to the selection. A bit of rain will not go amiss for him, though. Even so, there has to be the suspicion that others have more progression within them. With Toss The Caber making the most appeal for us. The lightly raced three-year-old has stacks of scope to improve over the trip and, as his trainer will revel in a winner at his local track, the son of Dr Devious is fancied to step up on what he has shown so far - especially as Seb Sanders will be doing just 3lb above his minimum weight to take the ride.
