The drop in trip will suit Contemplation and he is fancied to win again at the main expense of Gala Sunday and Grandad Bill. Whilst Lorraine Ellison looks to have the Lady Amateur Riders Championship sown up, she will be hoping for further success on Contemplation. A winner over the course and distance two starts back when the ground was firm, Alan Swinbank's gelding should run a good race assuming the rain doesn't arrive. Nicely bred, he doesn't look the most straight-forward of animals but if on song he is fancied to oblige. Grandad Bill has had injury problems in the past but has run two good races since joining Jim Goldie although both of his wins have come over a mile. Gala Sunday is effective on any ground but whilst he hasn't been in the greatest of form of late, reunited with Serena Brotherton again he could gain his fifth win for her. Catherines Cafe let down favourite backers last time out when she didn't really seem to stay the trip and now running over further she can be easily opposed. Scotty's Future would have carried these at his peak but he looks past his best now and may prefer the ground with some more give in; therefore we are happy to return to Contemplation as the nomination.
