The southern entries could hold the key here, and Gone Fishing is selected to beat beat fellow Newmarket raiders Golband and Pesquera, with Arnprior best of the northern entries. Michael Jarvis has his team in tip-top form at present, and Gone Fishing is sure to be well tuned up for her return. The daughter of Cadeaux Genereaux was sent off as favourite at Lingfield on her final start last September, but disappointed badly and perhaps she just did not like the artificial surface. Earlier in the season she was a close second to the odds-on Godolphin horse Northern Splendour over seven furlongs here at Redcar, and although that was on soft ground, she has by all account been working well on the faster gallops to justify support today. Luca Cumani's inmates always come on for the run so Golband will definitely improve on what she does today. She was beaten in a hot little race at Hamilton last summer and is well regarded. Pesquera did well to finish third in soft ground at Windsor on her final outing last October, as she possesses bags of speed, and as that form has worked out quite well, she should be noted. Arnprior finished fifth to the useful Aragorn at Doncaster last week and now drops back in trip. Whether that is a good or bad thing remains to be seen, and in any case we prefer the claims of Gone Fishing, with her stable in form.
