Waterloo Corner deserves to get his head in front and can do so at the expense of Highest Return, Blue Bajan and Musardiere. Solid recent form is a bit thin on the ground in the finale, and the eye is drawn to Waterloo Corner who has been plying his trade on the all-weather. Ray Craggs's charge is still a maiden but has been staying on at the end of his races, and the step up to a mile and a quarter could be just what he needs to help open his account. He has run well in blinkers, and the aids should help his cause again here on what is his first outing on turf since his debut at Catterick in October. Highest Return was tried over 12 furlongs on his return at Thirsk last month but faded in the soft ground, and so the combination of a drop back in trip and faster conditions will hopefully see him go close as well. Blue Bajan took a keen hold at Windsor last time when not finding a great deal in the finish, and Musardiere has shown nothing in two efforts on soft ground this term. She hung badly at Beverley as well so might need blinkers before too long. In truth this a poor end to the card, and while we cannot make him a good thing, Waterloo Corner is the pick on form.
