Mill By The Stream appreciated the drop to this trip when beating 16 rivals at Carlisle last week and is taken to defy a penalty at the main expense of Far Note and Premier Grand. The last mentioned is lightly raced for a five-year-old and lost no caste in defeat behind Brut at Thirsk last time so, with the potential for further improvement, has to be respected. Irish raider Nevinstown took advantage of a favourable mark to win at Southwell last time but has more to do today back on turf and of more interest may be Richard Fahey's Abelard, who is consistent but seemingly held by Premier Grand on running last time. Petite Mac holds solid claims on the evidence of her latest start at Thirsk, while the three-year-old Evanesce may struggle against her older rivals. David Barker has his team in good order right now so Fox Covert has to be respected although a bigger threat may come from Far Note, who has run to a similar level of form in his last two starts. Mill By The Stream remains favourably treated over a trip that he is unexposed over though and gets the vote.
