        Verdict

        Smart Hostess will take a good deal of beating here with Justalord, Alpen Wolf and Chairman Bobby the best of the rest. The selection was a good winner at Ripon after a five month break from the track, and there is no reason to suggest that he won't repeat the trick here. Justalord is in good heart at present and could be the main danger. He is from a shrewd yard and stayed on well behind Catch the Cat last time. Chairman Bobby was behind him in the field that day, but he rarely runs a bad race and is capable of bouncing back to form to take a hand in the finish. Alpen Wolf looks a bit high in the weights at the present but is still running with credit. This race is not as competitive as the numbers would suggest, and Smart Hostess is the confident choice to prevail.
