        Verdict

        Alethiometer stepped up on a promising debut here to score a solid success at Thirsk over this trip and sets a fair standard with further improvement anticipated. Nevertheless, there are a couple of likely improvers here, notably AUSTRALIAN HARBOUR (NAP). The son of Australia was very green on his Yarmouth debut and in the circumstances didn't run at all badly to come home fifth behind Mighty Ulysses in what could turn out to be an above-average contest for the track. Considerable improvement is expected and he receives the vote. Ravenglass is likely to prove better than his second run suggested and Beluga Gold is a newcomer of interest.
