A wide open event in which Janes Gem is taken to get the better of Iloveturtle and topweight Eastern Scarlet. Kieren Fallon is an eyecatching booking for Janes Gem who has failed to add to her Redcar juvenile success, and who is now stepped up in distance in a bid to put matters right. This is a weak race and providing she stays, must have every chance of making all, if as expected they are the tactics that will be used. Mark Johnston's team are in fine form but Iloveturtle is likely to find conditions too fast being a son of Turtle Island, while Eastern Scarlet has to give weight away due to one or two fair efforts in the past. The rest are just too poor to consider and we return to Janes Gem to give Kieren Fallon another winner.
