Maia, Ishebee and Cheery Cat make up the shortlist here and the narrow vote goes to Maia. A mark of 63 for her handicap debut looks fair enough on what she has shown so far and Dandy Nicholls' daughter of Observatory looks sure to run another big race today. She disappointed at Chester but that course doesn't suit all horses and she got back on track with a good win at Catterick last time out. Her sire won on ground with some cut in and so assuming she handles today's softer going, she can win again despite not having the best draw. Ishibee is ideally suited by quick ground but can still go well here, whilst Multitude would have a good chance on her best form but looks high enough in the weights for now. Cheery Cat ran well in defeat last time out and if building on that good run then would have claims (however David Barker's gelding hasn't always gone on in the past). At a price Rainbow Fox could go well on ground that suits, however we will return to Maia as the selection.
