The short-listed three here are Flavius, Djalalabad and Thorax, with the selection being Flavius. Newmarket stables have farmed out this race in recent years and the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Flavius, who was fifth to Tranquil Tiger - who ran so well at Royal Ascot during the week - last time, and Michael Jarvis's Djalalabad, who has also shown promise in each start, including on good to soft, have to be given serious thought here. The Marcus Tregoning-trained Ajzal is well-related and is worth a second look, while the Mark Johnston-trained newcomer, Thorax, has plenty to like on breeding, being by Machiavellian out of an Unfuwain mare, and he is very much respected. The others are hard to fancy with the selection, once again, being Flavius.
