Froissee is the selection in the fillies' handicap ahead of Stolen Glance and Society Music. Froissee flew like a bird released when romping home against older horses at Yarmouth last time and, if in the same sort of mood, a six-pound penalty is hardly likely to stop her from going close today. The course and distance winner Society Music is entitled to respect, while much as Stolen Glance is five pounds above a winning mark, she has gone well from around today's mark in the past so cannot be ruled out of a good run. Hazelhurst comes here on a winning mark and she should be sharper for her recent return, while the lightly-raced Convallari - who is trained by Geoff Wragg, who recently ended a lean spell and even had a Royal Ascot winner this week - should be open to improvement, but Fortress has place claims at best, we feel. Gee Ceffyl Bach comes here on the back of a win, but that did come in a claimer, and Princess Palatine will have to be improved by headgear if she is to win. However, Froissee looks ahead of the handicapper and, accordingly, gets the vote.
