In depth

Verdict

This trip takes some getting round here and so we will have to side with the only previous winner of this event Great As Gold, Kayf Aramis and Prairie Sun may provide most danger. Great As Gold landed this contest in 2004 and comes here in terrific form having easily landed an 18 furlong event here earlier this month. The drying ground is a slight concern but nevertheless he is the obvious form pick. Kayf Aramis also boasts recent winning form, he landed a long distance race at Bath thirteen days ago, staying on well to beat Irish Wolf. The extra distance shouldn't be a problem and a big run can be expected. Prairie Sun will have benefitted from a recent spin round Catterick and is certainly well treated on the pick of his form. Ocean Tide may prove best of the others, but Great As Gold cannot be ignored on his favourite track and he gets our vote.
