        Verdict

        Paro gets the confident vote in this opener with Ballybough Eddie and Creinch rated as the main dangers. The selection was well beaten last time in a better race than this but he has shown some decent form prior to that and back in this grade he should take plenty of beating. Ballybough Eddie rates the main danger as he has shown some fair form in Ireland, but he has only run on ground much more testing than this and it remains to be seen whether today's conditions will suit. However, he remains unexposed and has obvious claims. Creinch won a Newbury bumper on his debut but he has not progressed since then. However, he shaped promisingly last time at Chepstow when third behind Northaw Lad and with nominal improvement he should be capable of making the frame. Cool Society has shown some fair form and may prove best of the remainder, but for the winner we will return to Paro.

        Creinch 33-1 (10-12) Held up, ridden and headway 5th, chased leaders next, weakened last, 3rd of 13, 7l behind Northaw Lad (11-3) at Chepstow 2m nh mdn hdl (4) gd.

        Cool Society 100-1 (10-5) Always behind, 13th of 16, well behind Manners (11-2) at Chepstow 2m nov hdl (4) gs.
