Verdict

Royal Portrait seemed not to stay the extended 1m4f at Windsor last time and John Dunlop's filly is taken to resume winning ways back over today's distance at the main expense of Donna's Double and Nakwa. The last mentioned appreciated every yard of the 12 furlongs when winning at Newcastle in May and, not surprisingly, looked in need of the run when returning here earlier this month over the same trip. He should strip fitter for the run today and is worth bearing in mind for future reference. Donna's Double has been thereabouts in recent starts and has been given a chance by the handicapper but he still seems a little high in the weights. Archie Babe, a course and distance winner earlier in the season, comes from a stable in form but would prefer a softer surface, while Storm Clear has yet to prove his effectiveness over today's trip. Face The Limelight has to be respected on the evidence of his last time out effort at Nottingham, while Top of The Class is a consistent performer who can be relied upon to run his usual good race but preference is for Royal Portrait and Pat Eddery.
