A very open affair can go to Society Music ahead of Flighty Fellow and Red Chairman. The selection is a course and distance winner and Michael Dods' mare won at Pontefract four starts back. She has since gone close on similar ground to today's, and still on a decent mark, she can win again. Red Chairman finally got off the mark at the 29th attempt last time out at Hamilton when he dotted up having made all. Another aggressive run like that could see him in the frame again. Flighty Fellow has decent form on good to soft but seems to struggle on this testing ground so is passed over, along with Harry The Hawk who is unexposed but failed to act on soft previously. At a price course and distance winner Time To Regret could go well although he has been woefully out of form of late, and so we will return to Society Music for the winner.
