Trinculo could hardly be in better form than at present and is taken to confirm recent Beverley form with Salviati and Trojan Flight, with Whinhill House rated the best of the remainder. The selection has won his last three starts adding to claiming race success at Newcastle and Sandown with an all-the-way win in that Beverley handicap last time. A 4lb rise for that latest success looks to be perfectly fair and there is no reason why the David Nicholls-trained gelding should not again get the better of those behind him at Beverley. Whinhill House has a 3lb penalty to carry for his latest win at Ayr and may struggle to follow up, while Divine Spirit and Pomfret Lad may again have to settle for a minor role. Trinculo has done little wrong of late though and can again take advantage of what would appear to be a favourable draw.
