      Verdict

Top Notch Tonto appears to have been around forever but is still only seven. He's a long way from the horse who finished runner-up to Olympic Glory in the 2013 Queen Elizabeth at Ascot though retains plenty of ability on ground with some give. Great Hall went up 13lb after completing a late-summer double in lower-class handicaps and was unable to cope while Innocent Touch went up 4lb for winning a Class 3 handicap at Epsom and found this grade beyond him at Ayr. Cymro reappeared last year with a victory over 1m4f at Thirsk and was highly tried subsequently. He may just find this on the short side, a remark that also applies to the useful stayer Magic Circle, whose last victory was over an extended two miles at York. Any rain would really help the cause of Empress Ali, who won over the track and trip in October, while Imshivalla made a successful reappearance a year ago and continued to perform with credit throughout the campaign. JUST HISS improved in the autumn, winning minor handicaps at Beverley and Musselburgh before a narrow defeat in a very tough York handicap. There's every reason to believe he can make further progress so gets the nod in a very competitive handicap.
