Nonrunner
A field of 14 runners line up for the first nursery of the season and plenty hold chances including top weight More Time, Mick Channon's Musical Guest and recent Brighton winner Charlie Delta but the vote goes to Chase The Ace. The selection has only raced at the minimum trip so far but pedigree and his style of racing suggests that the son of Foxhound should be suited by the step up to six furlongs. More Time did well when second to subsequent Woodcote placed King Malachi at Brighton last time but may find the concession of 10lbs to the selection beyond him. Charlie Delta showed improved form at Brighton last time but this looks tougher as it does for Flying Key, who won a Thirsk seller last time. Mark Johnston's Always Baileys has claims on the form shown at Carlisle but disappointed at Musselburgh on his most recent start and of more interest may be Musical Guest, who was narrowly touched off by stablemate Figaro Flyer at Bath last time and looks to have a nice racing weight. Chase The Ace has given the impression that six furlongs will bring about improvement though and Tim Easterby's colt gets the vote to open his account today.
