        Verdict

        Spinning is taken to make up for his recent defeat, with Superior Star and Moonstreaker others to consider. Spinning lined up fit and fancied at Carlisle on Wednesday on the back some fair efforts in defeat already this season. However, Philip Makin made far too much use of him, and the four-year-old was a spent force by the time they climbed the hill to the finish. Paul Fessey takes over in the saddle now, and surely David Barron will tell him to use a little more restraint and deliver from halfway. On form, Spinning has a good chance of making amends and is the pick. Superior Star has topweight to overcome, and has produced his best performances on faster ground, but Moonstreaker has shaped well on the Fibresand at Southwell of late and so is worth a try on this ground. The market should be noted for the remainder, with preference for Spinning.
