Verdict

Favourites (especially odds-on favourites) have a tremendous record here having won seven of the past eight runnings, so watch the market for clues and act accordingly. The main protagonists appear to be Golan Knight, Nacho Libre and Easy Target, and we will side with Golan Knight. Kevin Ryan's colt has proven himself very much at home on soft ground having sauntered to victory at Leicester on similar conditions. He wasn't disgraced in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot next time up and now tackling more suitable opposition, he looks sure to run a massive race. Easy Target represents a stable in good form (especially with his two-year-olds) and like all of the field, has plenty of scope for further improvement. Nacho Libre has run in some hot races and having come out on top at Windsor when last seen, Barry Hills' colt will be a massive danger if handling the different conditions. The market will help guide and none of the field can be ruled out, however we will stick with Golan Knight who is proven on the ground.
