An above average maiden for the time of year with around half the field bringing sound claims to the table. KNOW THE LAW is marginally preferred to First Avenue and Karky Schultz. Know The Law's only success on the level came on the all-weather in first time blinkers so there are doubts about his resolution but he has ability having been rated in the high seventies for much of his career. He made an entirely satisfactory hurdling bow behind a horse that showed up well for a long way in the County Hurdle and could improve for the experience, a more conventional track and quicker ground. First Avenue was also quirky on the level and his new team have wasted no time in slapping a pair of cheekpieces on him following his debut second on heavy ground over course and distance where he ran around in the closing stages. He was a higher rated horse on the Flat, is just the type that his trainer does well with and he holds every chance. Yossi is yet another useful Flat horse who wasn't straightforward and he stepped up on the form of his hurdling debut when third last time but probably lacks the potential of the two already mentioned. Similar remarks can be applied to Long Distance with respect to hurdling whilst Karky Schultz is more exposed having already competed in handicaps. He's proved competitive in that sphere and isn't underestimated but the claims of First Avenue and Know The Law are preferred with the latter getting the nod.
