Jacaranda can come out on top in an open affair, with Sun King, Ho Pang Yau and Kristiansand all expected to run well. This looks the most competitive race on the card, so only a small vote goes the way of Jacaranda who has been in decent form on the Flat as well as over jumps this summer. A good third at Stratford on his latest outing, Philip Hobbs's seven-year-old will at least go on the fast ground, and although a bit high in the weights now, should be involved in the finish. Sun King absolutely bolted up at Huntingdon last time, but the opposition has to be taken into account, and he will do well to gain another course-and-distance victory. Ho Pang Yau was also most impressive when scoring here last time, and although upped in grade, should give his supporters a run, while Kristiansand is still fairly treated, and just needs to brush up his jumping to be a danger to all. Gringo has it to do off topweight, and of the remainder, Torrid Kentavr and the younger English City are worth a second glance, but our pin comes down on Jacaranda.
