Small field are the norm in this Listed race but no local trainer has won it since Lucinda Russell successfully saddled Blenheim Brook in 2011. The Arlary handler runs Bialco this year but he’s the lowest rated of the quartet and up against it given he was beaten four lengths by Knockrobin at Bangor last month. Scorpion Sid beat a subsequent winner by 15 lengths on his debut under Rules at Chepstow and was equally impressive when trouncing Oxwich Bay by nine lengths at Ffos Las. The step up to 3m shouldn’t be a problem but more may be needed if CALETT MAD (NAP) has recovered from his Cheltenham exertions. The course and distance winner took a Class 2 handicap at Musselburgh before that and should be well up to winning at this level.
Calett Mad (FR) 16-1 (11-5) Mid-division on inside, weakened 2 out, behind when pulled up before last, at Cheltenham 3m (1) sft in Mar.

Scorpion Sid (IRE) 10-11fav (11-8) Made all, ridden and clear before last, won at Ffos Las 2m (4) hvy in Feb beating Oxwich Bay (11-8) by 9l, 6 ran.
Bialco (FR) 3-1 (11-1) Chased winner until before 2nd, stayed handy, 2nd again from 5th, no impression on winner when mistake 2 out, mistake last, kept on, 2nd of 8, 4l behind Knockrobin (11-1) at Bangor 2m 4f (4) sft in Mar.
