held up in rear, ridden and some headway 3 out, weakened next
made all, not fluent 3 out, hit next, soon clear
chased leaders, ridden approaching 2 out, one pace
held up and keen, struggling approaching 3 out
chased winner 2 out, mistake 1st, ridden approaching 2 out, kept on, no impression
Nicky Richards and Tony Dobbin have a formidable record here at Perth, and they can have another winner here with Rising Generation, while Spree Vision and Magic Box can chase him home. Rising Generation has plenty of hand on these on official ratings and although he has not won since his British chasing debut at Hereford two-and-a-half years ago, he has benefited from a drop in the weights of late to finish runner-up in successive minor handicap hurdles. One who acts on a sound surface, a reproduction of his most recent effort would suffice here. Magic Box won a Sedgefield seller last time but has gone up 10lb as a result and on that basis it seems the best he can hope for is placed money, while Spree Vision will be more at home on this ground than with cut when disappointing last time out in hurdling company and he should go well again here. Of the others, Welsh Dream possesses some ability and if he is sharp enough after a run on the level last month his hurdles form is good enough to make him the biggest rival to the selection. But for that selection we return to Rising Generation.
