Verdict

Barney, Tom's Toybox and Ormello come here in good recent form, with Tom's Toybox narrowly preferred. After wining over hurdles and fences, Barney was something of a disappointment last time, beaten almost 30 lengths. He can shape better here, but there is the suspicion that the handicapper has caught up with him after those recent successes. Ormello won here two outings ago but was slammed by the selection at Aintree last time. Although on revised terms here, it is hard to envisage Ormello turning the tables. Toms Toybox is perhaps unlucky not to have completed a hat trick, having won two of his last three starts, and slipped up when well placed on the other occasion. His win at Aintree last time was emphatic, with the 13lb rise in the weights the only concern. Toms Toybox holds all the answers here.
