Regent's Secret, Gaiban and Gamma Velorum look the trio to focus on here with Regent's Secret the selection. A winner on the Flat at Downpatrick last summer, Haiban has shown enough ability in a handful of hurdling attempts to suggest he can play a role in a race as weak as this. His wins to runs ratio is poor on the Flat, and the rain needs to stay away to see him at his best, but he nonetheless holds place claims. Chris Grant's Gamma Velorum is more interesting. He has shown talent in both his bumper contests, and belied a huge starting price when a good fifth on his hurdling bow. That was very encouraging, and he can play a leading role here. Rated in the sixties on the Flat, five time winner on the level Regent's Secret has not landed a race since last summer but he shaped well last time to be a close third here and this lesser affair looks his for the taking. This genuine type looks sure to run his race, and Regent's Secret can get off the mark over hurdles.
