Alpine Stroll’s last victory came over 2m here last season but he’s never won on going this soft. Militry Decoration is only 1-22 on Turf but he’s had a light campaign and has been steadily coming to hand. He would have gone close at Bath last month had he not suffered interference when gaining on the first two. Sophar Sogood has done most of his winning on the all-weather but has placed on soft ground but Can Can Girl has yet to prove she really stays this far. Hellenista is an out-and-out stayer but has proved difficult to place with similar comments applying to Motazzen. ALHAMBRA PALACE beat the subsequent Ffos Las winner Roost at Sandown two runs ago. He was taking on stronger opposition at York last time on going than was quicker than ideal and can pick up the winning thread again.
