Muscika wasn’t winning out of turn at Epsom last month but is the senior runner in this. Foreseeable Future has been very consistent this season and Fantasy Master sprang a 20/1 surprise in this 12 months ago, though is still 6lb higher. Just A Spark has been on the go since January and so has Northern Spirit but the latter has only finished out of the frame once so far this year. However, he was easily brushed aside by Pinafore in a qualifier for this, though is 8lb better off. SPIRIT OF APPLAUSE started favourite that day but had no luck in-running and had to settle for fourth. He ran well here in June behind the useful Funny Story and can go close if stall one doesn’t prove a disadvantage. Havana Rum got back to winning ways at Catterick but has been raised 7lb.
