In depth

Verdict

Intriguing to see Bird To Love adopt a completely different approach when making all at Chepstow, just a week after coming home a strong-finishing third at Chelmsford from well off the pace - customary tactics down the years. It will be interesting to see how she's ridden in this apprentice contest. However, CONTRAST (NAP) was a stylish victor at Beverley and can follow up under a 4lb penalty. The move from soft to quick ground should not inconvenience as he's won on good to firm before. Mahanakhon Power improved notably to score at Yarmouth last month and his finishing effort when fourth last time suggested this return to 1m2f is a wise move.
