    Verdict

ABATE was well beaten in a typically competitive York sprint this month but sets the standard on previous runs, notably when a short head second at Doncaster and a cracking third to the progressive Mr Wagyu at York in mid-June. Overall, he's enjoyed a strong season without getting his head in front but should go close back in Class 5 company and down to the minimum trip. Outrage is an excellent servant to the Kublers and is no less than 13lb lower on turf than synthetics but has run well enough on the grass on recent starts to be a danger all round. The remaining trio cannot be ruled out with Latin Five just preferred as next best after a close-up Beverley third.
