This is a competitive handicap in which Rock Dove, Swinbrook, Balakiref and Brigadore look to be the leading lights and the vote is given to Rock Dove. The selection ran green but still made a winning racecourse debut over the minimum trip on this track last season. She then ran well in a competitive handicap at York and this unexposed filly from the Sir Mark Prescott yard looks like one to stay on the right side of. She is sure to benefit from her seasonal reappearance effort and from a good draw she looks the one to be with. Brigadore won over this course and distance last time when beating Summer Recluse and off his current mark he is sure to again make a bold bid, although he lacks the scope for improvement of our selection. Swinbrook should be suited by the return to 6f and he has been running well enough of late to give him place prospects today. Balakiref won well last time at Ayr and will have his optimum ground conditions today, so he is another capable of going close, but Rock Dove is open to more improvement than her rivals and we are happy to side with her as our idea of the winner.
