CANDY RIDE is a consistent sort at a slightly lower level and can continue her good form here at the expense of likely dangers Insolence and Supaverdi. Ed Dunlop's filly has been first twice and second twice in her last four outings, and now tries this grade for the first time. She looks to have more to come and the slight step up in trip shouldn't inconvenience, but it's the first time she's been asked to go this far. She's got an eight pounds advantage with joint top-rated Supaverdi, because of the weight for age allowance, and that could prove decisive. Hughie Morrison's charge returned to form last time out, but may be carrying too much. Sir Michael Stoute's Insolence is making her handicap debut following three inauspicious outings in maidens, but connections must feel she's got some ability to come up to this sort of level. It looks wide open, but our preference is for Candy Ride.
