    Verdict

Double Honour was always expected to be a four-year-old to follow over staying distances this season and he could hardly have been more impressive on his seasonal reappearance at Doncaster. That was with cut in the ground but this faster ground will not be a problem and with his willingness for a battle he is always one to keep on the right side of. His sure to go off at very short odds but is difficult to oppose. Bosham Mill ran well in the big cup races last year and is the obvious danger although he will be sharper for this reappearance. Aquarius has a bit to find although John Dunlop is a man to to fear at this time of the year while last year's Northumberland Plate winner Archduke Ferdinand may find one or two too good. Hannibal Lad chased home Double Honour at Doncaster but the ground here is against him.
