    Verdict

River Rye is likely to prove difficult to beat with the aid of his capable apprentice's 7lb claim defying her welter burden of 9-7. The winner of a five furlong Warwick maiden on her second start, she looked as if she failed to stay the six furlong trip on her next start before failing to re-confirm her form with Every Second on 7lb worse terms. It could well have been that River Rye failed to handle the undulations of Chester last time and back on a straight-forward track, she can land this. Simple Rhythm's participation hinges on how she comes out of Thursday evening's engagement at Doncaster. He found the smart Rievaulx World too strong last time, which was not a bad effort considering that his conqueror is a horse who is potentially much better than the grade which he contested that particular day. Bahamian Ceilidh comes here after landing what now appears a decent Lingfield fillies maiden, a second having landed a Newbury maiden since. The front two drew quite a long way clear while the third has since finished runner-up in an Ayr maiden and looks a surefire future winner. This event does look to concern the top three on the racecard and River Rye is the nomination.
