Those with experience in this haven’t shown a great deal so far, though some should do better as three-year-olds. Valcartier is one as he was sent off joint favourite on his sole start at Doncaster in October, though was well beaten. Jockey bookings suggest he’s the pick of Godolphin’s two runners ahead of the twice-raced Endless Gold. A filly won this last year and Richard Fahey’s daughter of Dark Angel, Sue's Angel, showed promise in small-field maidens at Beverley and Thirsk in August. Frankie rides Al Galayel, a 200,000gns half-brother to four winners, for his retainers and he’s a newcomer to note along with Wasm, who cost 130,000gns, but TANGO FIRE could be yet another winner for Frankel. He’s the first foal to race of a dual Listed winner so has a cracking pedigree.
