Verdict

A modest handicap but a competitive one considering the prize money on offer. Most of the these have been plying their trade on the all-weather but Scribner Creek is the only recent winner, scrambling home in a Class 6 handicap at Chelmsford last month. Cosmic Ray got to within half-a-length of all-the-way winner Pivotman at Leicester last week and is 2lb lower so will be fancied to go one better. Transmitting was placed twice last year for Sir Michael Stoute but hasn’t raced since October. FIRE TREE was quite well supported on his first run for Charlie Fellowes at Lingfield in February and hinted at better to come when staying on into third. He’s preferred to joint top weight Athollblair Boy with that outing under his belt.
