Istidlaal is bound to be popular with backers on his handicap debut having run better in a Leicester maiden last time but Sir Michael Stoute's colt does not look particularly well treated and a better bet looks to be DREAM SPINNER, who gets the verdict over Boston Blue. William Knight's gelding was a comfortable winner at Goodwood last month and was not disgraced at Ripon subsequently behind Beat The Rush but a 2lb rise since that outing makes this race difficult for the son of Halling, who may have to settle for minor honours. Ralph Beckett's Keenes Royale has struggled against the handicapper since winning three races on the bounce on the Polytrack earlier this year. Brian Meehan's Montparnasse was a narrow winner over Leader Of The Land at Windsor last month but has gone up 5lbs for that win and he looks booked for a place at best. John Best's Sidney Melbourne ran better at Warwick last month but needs to improve again to get the better of the selection, Dream Spinner. John Dunlop's colt stayed on gamely when successful at Nottingham on his most recent start and he can follow up off a 3lb higher mark today.
