EMPRESS ROYAL is the tentative suggestion given that Inagh River proved so disappointing on debut whilst others to monitor in the market include Allegrissimo, Liberty Ess and Jonelha. Michael Dods has yet to have a juvenile winner this season but he had a good strike rate with his youngsters last term and may be able to set the record straight here. Empress Royal certainly makes some appeal on paper as she's a half-sister to Empress Jain who won the corresponding race in 2005. Inagh River was made favourite on debut but never looked like getting competitive and finished a long way adrift. He may well prove capable of better but is difficult to recommend on the back of that performance. Allegrissimo has plenty of stamina on the distaff side of her pedigree but she's a half-sister to a six furlong juvenile winner so makes some appeal; her yard is going well but this is their first juvenile runner of the season. Liberty Ess and Jonelha also make some appeal on paper so are well worth considering but the suggestion is Empress Royal.
