A number of lightly raced three-year-olds in opposition in an interesting contest and marginal preference is for Wondrous Joy ahead of Brazilian Terrace, Isla Azul and Swift Alchemist. Ed Dunlop's charge showed some promise in hot maiden company last term and duly obliged on her return over this trip at Thirsk last month. The well-bred daughter of Machiavellian appears well suited by both trip and ground and should progress further so looks the one to beat off a fair mark on her handicap debut. Brazilian Terrace had Swift Alchemist four lengths behind when a comfortable handicap winner at Yarmouth last month and there should be little between the pair on the revised terms. The former has since run creditably in defeat in useful company at Newmarket but looks vulnerable giving weight to less exposed rivals. Isla Azul has her first try in a handicap having shaped with plenty of ability in maidens and it will be a surprise if this full sister to Coronation Stakes heroine cannot prove competitive off her current rating while Tease is capable of going close on the pick of her form and shouldn't be dismissed lightly.
